Road Re-Construction: Davis Drive, Jones Court and Irwin Avenue

Client: Town of Aurora

Valdor was retained by the Town of Aurora to prepare a detailed engineering design for the re-construction of Irwin Avenue, Davis Road and Jones Court including new sidewalk, watermain replacement and storm sewer design. The project involved the construction of 760m of road to an urban standard. The sidewalk location was selected based on input received during and public information meeting. The design was completed in 2010 and the cost of construction was $3,250,000.

Special attention was required with respect to the existing watercourse which traversed the work area. Oil / grit separators were installed to treat storm sewer discharge. Details were prepared for armour stone wing walls and river stone channel works at the creek crossings. Cross sections were prepared along the entire project length to accurately assess potential impacts to trees and utilities.

Road Re-Construction: Parkside Drive and Logie Street

Lindsay, Ontario

Client: City of Kawartha Lakes

Valdor was retained by the City of Kawartha Lakes to prepare a detailed engineering design and tender package for the re-construction of Parkside Drive and Logie Street in the community of Lindsay. The project included new sidewalks, the replacement of an aging watermain, the installation of a new sanitary sewer and storm sewer and the urbanization of the existing road allowances. The sidewalk location was selected based on input received during and public information meeting and review of the overall sidewalk network in the area. The design was completed in 2011 and the estimated cost of construction was $2,200,000.
